Privacy Policy

HyriX is a video editor for Mac and Windows. This policy explains what information HyriX handles, why, and the choices you have. In short: your videos stay on your device unless you choose to save a project to your account, we don't sell your information, and we don't show ads or use tracking for advertising.

1. Your account

• What we keep: your email address, your name and profile picture (if you add one), your password (stored only as a secure hash), and, if you turn it on, your two-step sign-in settings.
• Sign-in activity: when you sign in we record the time, the app and its version, the device name and system, and the IP address, so you can see and end your sessions in Account › Security and so we can protect your account.
• Device ID: HyriX creates a random ID for each device so your sessions and devices can be told apart. It is not linked to any advertising ID.

2. Your projects and media

• Projects, videos, pictures, sounds and exports are stored on your device.
• Saved to your account (optional): if you turn on saving projects to your account, a copy of the project file and its voiceover is uploaded to HyriX's server, encrypted, so you can restore it on another device. You can turn this off, and you can delete saved projects at any time.
• We don't look at, use or share your projects for any other purpose.

3. AI features

• On your device: auto captions, Reduce noise, Isolate voice, AI upscale and Keep the person run entirely on your device. The models are downloaded once from their publishers (for example Hugging Face); your media is not sent anywhere.
• Paid speech service (optional): if you choose ElevenLabs captions with your own ElevenLabs key, the video's sound is sent to ElevenLabs under their privacy policy.
• AI apps you connect (optional): if you connect an AI app (such as Claude or ChatGPT) in Settings › AI connections, that app can see and edit the open project at your request. What it receives is handled by that app's provider under their terms.

4. The HyriX library

• Effects, transitions, filters, caption and text styles, fonts, stickers and music are downloaded from HyriX's server when you first use them.
• We count which library items are used (per account, kept for 30 days) to show "Popular" and "Used by me" lists.

5. Stock media search

When you search stock pictures, clips or music, your search words are sent to the provider (such as Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash, Openverse or Freesound), either directly with your own key or through HyriX's server. Each provider's own privacy policy applies.

6. Feedback and crash reports

• Feedback: when you send feedback we receive your message, any screenshots you attach, the app version and basic facts about your device and the screen you were on, so we can fix problems.
• Crash reports: if HyriX closes unexpectedly it asks you, the next time it opens, whether to send a report. Nothing is sent unless you choose to.

7. Updates

On Mac and Windows HyriX checks hyrix.io for new versions. This request includes the app version and the address it comes from, like any web request.

8. Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information. We use service providers only to run HyriX (hosting and email delivery for sign-in codes). We may disclose information if the law requires it.

9. How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account exists. Sign-in activity and library usage counts are kept for a limited time. When you delete your account (Account › Delete account), your account, sessions and saved projects are deleted.

10. Your choices and rights

• Change your name, photo, email and password in Account, and see or end sessions in Security.
• Turn saving projects to your account on or off, and delete saved projects.
• Delete your account at any time inside the app.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your information. Contact us at [email protected].

11. Children

HyriX is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Security

Connections to HyriX's server are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored as hashes, saved projects are encrypted, and updates are signed so the app only installs genuine versions.

13. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app for important changes.
